What are All on X ?

All on 4 dental implants are regularly referred to as ‘Smile in a Day’ or ‘Teeth in a Day’ because, as you might surmise, the entire surgical procedure is carried out during one visit to our location. Follow-up appointments will be required, but they will not usually feature any invasive orthodontic work.

Traditional implants, on the other hand, are fitted over several visits, which can span weeks, or even months – a huge problem for many, especially those with work or family commitments. In terms of convenience, All on 4 implants can’t be beaten.

But what exactly are All on 4 implants? Well, an implant of this type is intended to replace an entire arch, meaning that it will replace all teeth on the upper or lower jaw. However, you won’t need to have 14 individual implants – instead, everything is securely fixed in place using just four implants.

Benefits of Having A Dental Implants

There are several benefits to Dental Implants, which is why it’s such a popular option with many patients in our London practice. We’ve gone over just a few of the Dental Implants benefits below.

Incredibly Realistic Look

The primary reason for dental implant surgery is its aesthetic look. There’s no way to replace missing teeth that looks as realistic. In fact, it will be almost impossible for others to tell that you’ve had a dental implant fitted. Of course, the natural look will only last if you commit to looking after both your teeth and implants.

Long-Lasting Solution

Dental implants offer an exceptionally long-lasting solution. In fact, with the correct care something our dentists can advise you on there’s no reason your dental implants won’t last for so many years. The durability also ensures the implants are exceptionally strong, matching your existing teeth in strength.

Fantastically Comfortable

Dental implants are an exceptionally comfortable choice. While they might feel slightly strange at first, this feeling will disappear, and you won’t even know they’re there after a while.

Protection Against Bone Loss

One serious problem that can be associated with missing teeth is bone loss. The bone surrounding our teeth, called the alveolar bone, relies on teeth to maintain its form. Without teeth, the bone stops rebuilding, which can result in a 25% decrease in bone width in just one year – something that impacts both strength and function. Dental implants provide the required stimulation and ensure the integrity of the bone.

Frequently Ask Questions

Find the answer to the most common questions. Everything you need to know about Dental Implants.

The dental implants procedure begins with removing any remaining tooth that might be present. We then use state-of-the-art technology to map your mouth, allowing us to plan how we’ll move forward.

After this, we perform a small procedure to insert the implant into your gum. Once it has bonded with the bone, we can move ahead with attaching the abutment and then attaching the porcelain tooth. The procedure takes a few weeks, but the fantastic results are worth the wait.

No dental procedure should ever be painful, regardless of its invasiveness. We will use a highly effective local anaesthetic during your procedure to ensure you don’t feel a thing. You might feel minor discomfort after the procedure, but this can be alleviated with over-the-counter painkillers.

Dental implants are exceptionally long-lasting, and you should expect your dental implants to remain in excellent condition for so many years. However, this needs a combination of your brushing and flossing together with our regular hygiene sessions which will be recommended to you based on your gum status.

Almost every adult who has lost or damaged a tooth is a candidate for a dental implant. However, you must have a healthy mouth and no decay or gum disease. If you have either, a dentist will be able to advise you about how to treat it.

Some medical conditions, such as blood clotting disorders, will make you unsuitable for this treatment. It is also not wise to perform dental implant surgery on anyone under 18, as their bone tissue might not be fully developed.

Bone grafting is not something usually required for those receiving dental implants. However, it might be needed if your bone isn’t thick enough or is too soft. We will be able to tell you whether a bone graft is required once we have met you and analysed images taken of your jaw.
